As Mayor, Shawn is responsible for overseeing the legislative, financial and operational measures of the City. He is charged with the duties of overseeing every department and every aspect of City business.

Shawn Komahcheet is a native of Cache, graduate of Cache High School and proud member of the Comanche Nation Tribe. Shawn has served as Mayor since being elected in April 2009. Shawn began his career in law enforcement career in 1996 as a Reserve Police Officer with the Cache Police Department and has been employed as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer since 1998. He has also been a dedicated member of the Cache Volunteer Fire Department since 2000. He is married to Eva (Carrick) Komahcheet and they have two sons, Tyler and Derek. They are members of the Pete Coffey Mennonite Brethren Church.

Shawn began serving the City of Cache as Council Member for Ward 4 in 2007. He continues to give 100% effort in trying to accomplish his goals for the City of Cache (not in priority order);

  • Searching for grants to bring economic development and beautification to our city
  • Municipal swimming pool
  • Street repairs
  • Municipal sports complex to include baseball, softball, soccer fields, skateboard park, concession area, restrooms and more
  • Trash service, reduce costs for all citizens
  • Work with Cache Chamber of Commerce to revive the "old" Western Days to include
    • old gunfight shows, rodeos, street dances, etc.
  • Improve all water and sewer lines
  • Communicate better with the citizens of Cache
  • Improve the city’s relationship with the Cache Chamber of Commerce and Cache Public Schools
  • Improve the record keeping system at City Hall To work WITH and FOR all of the citizens of Cache.
